The City of Fayetteville Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a meeting for the volunteer Trail Trekkers program on Tuesday April 30, 2013, at 5:30 P.M. in ROOM 111 at City Hall (113 W Mountain Street).

Ranger's Pantry Pet Food Bank Receives $2,500 ASPCA Grant

Ranger’s Pantry has received a $2,500 grant from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). The grant will be used to purchase dog food to be distributed through Ranger’s Pantry to families in Fayetteville that are struggling to feed their pets. Since its founding in May of 2010, Ranger’s Pantry has provided over 49,042 lbs of dog food to more than 1,145 dogs in need. Grants like this and private donations are the only way that Ranger’s Pantry is able to provide pet food for families in need.

Sustainable Landscape Competition Announced

The City of Fayetteville Urban Forestry Advisory Board (UFAB) announces a competition for best examples of sustainable landscapes by offering an award to one residential property and one commercial property. Applications will be accepted from addresses located within the Fayetteville city limits. Each winner will be recognized through local press and receive a landscape recognition sign that may be displayed up to six (6) months at the winning property.
