The Governor's Work-Life Balance Award celebrated its 10th year yesterday with an award ceremony at the Peabody Hotel in Little Rock. More than a dozen Arkansas employers were recognized for adopting exemplary strategies that support a healthy work-life balance. The City of Fayetteville was the recipient of the Governor’s Work-Life Balance Award in the Large Nonprofit Category. Fayetteville is the first city governmental entity in Arkansas to win this award.

Mountain Street on the second floor. The public is encouraged to attend this presentation. Book Donations Needed for Annual Chalie Brown Booksale

Every year the students of Vandergriff Elementary collect used books of all types under the direction of third grade teacher, Sherri Wheeler. They then host a sale, offering paperbacks for fifty cents and hardbacks for one dollar. Last year they raised almost $5,000 making this event the single biggest annual fundraiser for the Fayetteville Animal Shelter.
